TawkTo to Mailchimp Integration Guide

 Prerequisites:

Before you begin, ensure that:

• You have access to a TawkTo account.
• You have a Mailchimp account set up.
• You’re logged in to both platforms in your browser.

Step 1 Click on App Credentials

Step 2 Create a New Credential

Step 3 Configure App details

• Add your App Name
• Select Mailchimp from the Multiselect Dropdown

Step 4 Add your Mailchimp API Key with Audience ID and click Verify and save

If you’ve already done that, continue below to create the space.

Step 5 Click on Add Space to create a new space

Step 6 Select your Source App from the dropdown

• Choose TawkTo

Step 7 Copy the Webhook URL generated for Tawk_to

Step 8 Steps to Verify Webhook in Tawk.to

• Log in to your Tawk.to account and go to the Dashboard.
• On the top of the dashboard, click the Settings (gear) icon.

Step 9 A new page will open ,in the sidebar menu, click on Settings again.

Under Settings, click on Webhook.

Step 10 Click the "Create Webhook" button.

Paste your URL into the “Endpoint URL” field with a name

Choose your chat events like- chat-start

Step 11 Click Save to complete the setup.

Step 12 Start a Demo tawk to Chat Session from your website

Enter demo user details like name and email

Step 13 End the chat session to simulate a real interaction

Step 14 Go back to the integration space and click Verify Webhook, then proceed by clicking Continue

Step 15 Select your Target App from the dropdown

• Choose Mailchimp

Step 16 Choose "Leads" as the model for Mailchimp.

Step 17 Select the Mailchimp account you created earlier while setting up your app credentials.

Step 18 Click on Save first and then Map Fields

Step 19 Match Tawk to fields to Mailchimp fields

Example: Name → First Name, Email → Email Address, etc.

Step 20 Save the field mapping configuration

Step 21 From the Action Column, click to Activate Your Space

Step 22 Start another Demo Chat Session via your TawkTo widget

Step 23 End the session to test the integration

Step 24 Log in to your Mailchimp account, then go to your Audience from the left-side menu.

You should see a new subscriber or contact added to your Contacts list
